Eco-Mapping is the most widely used environmental management system used bySME’s in the world.  The system, which was developed in Germany 20 years ago, is a simple first step in implementing environmental management.

Aura Sustainability have been trained to coach organisations through the Eco-Mapping process by Eco-Counsel Asia Pacific.  The coaching process takes 2 half days with interactive training with key operational staff – it is very much based on LEAN concepts of driving the process from the floor upwards.

  • Drawing the Urban Situation Map
  • Material Flows and Resource Use
  • How to Eco-map water
  • How to Eco-map soil and storage

  • How to Eco-map energy

  • How to formalize the environmental information system
  • Annual review

Upon completion of the Eco-Mapping process an organisation will have completed the 30% of the requirements of the more formal ISO 14001, be able to register their Environmental Information System with Eco-Counsel Asia Pacific, promote the work they have completed and have a globallyrecognised informal environmental management system in place.

What will this training deliver in terms of management capability?

  • A cross management understanding of:
  • Environmental management
  • Environmental impacts
  • Opportunities for significant resource reduction
  • How to implement an informal environmental management system.
  • Management will have developed the basic skills to manage environmental issues internally and without the need for expensive consultants.
  • It will deliver the skill sets to managers to enable them to put in place practical resource efficiency projects and reduce wastage from both an environmental and financial perspective.
